Snowbiking
Last Saturday I awoke to the silence of gently falling snow. It continued all day and by the time it abated, 6" of it carpeted the ground.
The following Sunday morning, I took down the mountain bike and decided to go on a reconnaissance ride to determine how my commute to work the following day would be impacted.
The snow had been tightly packed by passing cars and I was pleased at how well the knobby, mountain bike tires gripped.
I took a slow, smooth, silent, 15 mile bike ride and enjoyed the beauty of it all.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_3DnyVM_kjwfJw7pV3Tn1z_fgouOnqBTrka2dF7BssJ57CSCqOJ9QFkrFIJ9bYudO_1-6T0COBdkQSNLIDLhwscEer4D84k4zt8ehMXS2bu2BWsxVixVcG_Npz7fFEh8W0esQaTa56-HJ/s320/Riding+in+the+snow+1.JPG)
